Our Vision.

As mayor, Lorena will provide bold, principled, and collaborative leadership that unites people around a shared vision for Seattle that is based in economic and social justice — a thriving, diverse, and progressive city that works hard for the people.

A Seattle that works together and works for everyone. The past several years have exposed and deepened divisions amongst us all. While all of us have felt the devastating impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the public health and economic impacts of the past year have exacerbated the harms experienced by Black, Indigenous, brown, and other people of color living and working in Seattle in particular. Working together, we can maximize the opportunity to champion real solutions for a more equitable Seattle.

Lorena is committed to listening with an open mind to the concerns of Seattle residents and workers. She will prioritize bringing together diverse voices so that, together, we can solve Seattle’s most challenging issues.

Livability

A Seattle of vibrant, diverse neighborhoods and commercial districts, where people of all income levels and backgrounds can prosper and live harmoniously.

A Seattle made up of complete neighborhoods: where every community has access to essential resources like parks, grocery stores, community spaces, daycare centers, and schools.

A Seattle that is an arts, culture, and entertainment capital that attracts tourism and is accessible for everyone, not just wealthy patrons.

Housing Security

A Seattle that ensures affordable homes for everyone regardless of income level.

A Seattle that provides our fellow Seattleites with the access they need to mental, behavioral, and substance use services.

A Seattle that provides our unsheltered neighbors with a meaningful pathway to transition to a permanent home.

Mobility, Climate Justice and Urbanism

A Seattle that leads on tackling climate change while building a prosperous and sustainable future where all who live, work, learn, and play here can thrive.

A Seattle where environmental solutions build and strengthen economies in the communities that have been left out of environmental progress for too long.

A Seattle with green infrastructure that protects our climate, ensures clean water and air and provides environmental justice for all.

A Seattle where all have access to affordable and safe, clean drinking water and strong infrastructure to protect public health.

A Seattle with affordable and accessible multimodal transportation that connects our communities, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and keeps people and goods moving efficiently.

A Seattle that restores and protects our green spaces, waterfronts, and treasured natural resources.

Safe and Thriving Communities

A Seattle where public safety is completely reimagined: policing is demilitarized and held accountable to the public.

A Seattle that effectuates harm-reduction and crisis-intervention strategies to ensure community safety for all residents and businesses.

A Seattle that provides a world-class public education from birth to preschool through high school and college for every child, setting them up for a lifetime of opportunity and success.

Good Jobs and Equitable Economic Recovery

A Seattle that supports a thriving, diverse economy with living wage, union jobs for people of all educational levels and skillsets.

A Seattle economy that is grounded in the success of a diverse small business community that brings our neighborhoods to life and gives immigrants and entrepreneurs meaningful economic opportunities.

A Seattle that values essential workers by providing quality and affordable child care services and new transportation options, and demands living wage salaries and benefits from employers.

A Seattle at the forefront of public health innovation that ensures safe, effective, and efficient COVID-19 testing and vaccination for every person without cost.
